So if you didn't know, today was the Indy 500 Race. Now, y'all may not really care, I may not really care, but for thousands of Hoosiers today was a monuemental day involving plopping down in front of a big screen TV located in their friends's garage, drinking beer and cheering on their favorite driver.
Andy and I tried to drive up north to a friend's home for dinner after church and were blocked twice by closed roads and policemen.
Jackson asked what was going on.
Andy replied, "Jax you know how mommy took you and Liza to the race track on Thursday? (see below pics) Well the drivers were practicing for their big race that was today."
Jackson's reply (verbatim), "They're racing today?! That is not cool!! All those drivers should be in church!"

At the track. It's free and a lot of fun to be "right there" on the track before all the crowds are.

Future Danica Patrick or perhaps Sarah Fisher?

Future Dario Franchitti? He's determined looking enough!

This is what an Indy race car looks like. Hey, I always pictured NASCAR-type cars like from the movie "CARS", before I moved here. Consider yourself educated.

The cars are fast, and loud. Really, really loud.

Jackson and miraculously the green car he was rooting for in the background...they are
soooo fast! I took a ton of shots just trying to catch them going by-this was the only keeper.

Eliza is just so darn cute.
The famous original pagoda.
Thanks for coming with us--it was fun. You and I were thinking alike--I just posted about our visit too! And I loved Jackson's comment :)
