August 2010

July wore us out a little bit!

But we were super excited for company coming!!
Indiana State Dunes with Grandma Shelly and Aunt Mares...

The shine you see on our faces is sweat from humidity.  Jackson is trying to get one of the million mosquitoes that plagued us despite multiple layers of repellent.
Look really really closely to the backdrop.  That is Chicago on the other side of the bay.

Thanks girls for SUCH a fun time!!

My 31st birthday was on the 14th.  Many of you know that my older brother Brian has been battling stage 4 colorectal cancer for a couple years now.  This past Spring it metastasized and he and his family have been so in my thoughts and prayers and the only thing I asked for for my birthday was funds for him and his family.  My friends here found out about that request and (I get choked up even now thinking about that night) they took me out for ice cream and presented me with a bouquet of flowers made of money.  Because of their generosity and that of a few others I was able to give Bri and Elisha money for a month's worth of groceries.  I am so lucky to be surrounded by such friends here in Hoosierville-What an unforgettable birthday!
