July Utah Trip

I was recently chastised for not updating my blog. It was completely warrented, but now you will all be punished with about a hundred pictures from our trip out to Utah!!!! Take that Travis and Natalie! We had the opportunity to go up with the entire Condie clan to Jackson Hole. jackson was of course thrilled with the fact and loved swimming in his lake. Let's just say Jackson Hole Lake is on the frigid side! But we could not pull Eliza out for the life of us! Below, I tried to take off her swimtop so she could dry off and warm up and the next thing we knew she was headed for the lake. Thanks Aunt Mares for going in after her! I just LOVE the picture below of Eliza. I took it at the very end of the day and she just looks like such a tough little beach bum with her belly sticking out.
Not much of a sandy beach, but Jackson let us cover him from head to toe with the rocks nonetheless. Liza in the water...
Liza in the water...
Jackson content to dig OUT of the water...
Liza in the water...
On another day Andy and I rented bikes and did a 14 miles ride with Eliza (who INSISTED that she have a helmet too and kept it in her lap the entire ride!) I am pretty sure I'd be content to do that ride everyday with the Teton Mountain range looming in the distance for every stretch of it!!
Above, the ride is over and Eliza is still holding on to her helmet.

While we did the ride, jax got to go on a Tram with Grandma and Grandpa Condie, Aunt MaryAnn and Suzanne (Mares's housemate in Texas). Jackson has a love for all things transportation and therefore was enthralled with the whole trip.
It was fun just hanging out and playing games at night...
In case you forgot, we were staying in Jackson Hole with it's mountainous splendor...
Mom had Brian design some T-shirts for the big reunion and we TRIED to get a nice family picture all together...between joksters (Brian's hands about to choke us below) and crying kids and eye's closed i am not sure there was one frameable one-but we'll remember the trip right!

I included this picture, because I think Jax's curls are super cute. My dad kept asking, "Do you think people will think he's a girl?" and insisting that we give him a good shave during our trip. I taught Jax to say, "Don't be jealous of my curls, girls!!" Whenever the matter came up.
Little morning walk with Grandma Shelly.
A waterfall stop in Yellowstone. Glad that we went to Yellowstone, but I'll never try and do THAT park in ONE DAY ever again.
"What is THAT?!"
Our only buffalo siteing! Luckily he was super close and we also saw a brown bear our first day of our trip so we did see some wildlife!

On our way home from Jackson Hole, my brother in law, Nick suggested we stop off at Bear Lake to take a break and play. It was soo much fun. We had a castle building contest. I don't think I have to tell you that our caslte beat Nick's "Mordor" look alike! (Sorry Nick I know you were working alone and had kids trying to destroy yours the whole time!!)

One day mom and I took Jax and Liza to the Gateway fountains. Somehow, Grandma Shelly got soaking wet along with the kids...hey, I was taking the pictures!

Below is a bonnet Mares made years ago, she was cleaning out her old closet and found it. Eliza thought she was soo darn cute and put on a funny mug for the shot.
Thanks to my cousin Tal, we had one more fun water day boating. Mares also felt it necessary for us to swim out to the buoy and back for training (Triathlon this upcoming Saturday!!). I was pretty sure I was going to get hit by a boat, but we did it! the kids loved the super big innertube below.

More than anything else, my kids just loved hanging out with their cousins. Below Caroline chillin with Liza.
Jax playing on Grandma's slip in slide with Emma and Isaiah.

Last night there the Girls went out for dinenr and Ruth's Diner up Emmigration.
Love you guys! Had a FABULOUS TRIP and MISS YOU ALREADY!!

  1. What a great trip! It looks like it was a ton of fun. And I LOVE the Jackson area. It is gorgeous. I too have thought many times, as we've driven between Driggs and Victor (Idaho side), that I could run/bike for forever with that view.
