This past weekend my sister MaryAnn from Texas and two of my best friends from Utah came out to Hoosierville and did a triathlon with me! Jax made sure to get major Mares time in with finger painting and chalk drawing. It was great having three more women around to play with and spoil the kids with attention! Below is after church Sunday.

We went to a free Jazz concert down at the White River State Park. The Jazz was so so, but the sunset over the river was supreme!

All of Jackson's "ladies" took turns going on walks with him to the waterfalls and river and giving him shoulder rides to look at the art sculptures.

The triathlon was a 500meter swim, 10mile bike and 3 mile run. It was so fun doing it with all my friends. I swallowed nasty green algae lake water in the first 5 min of the race and felt like throwing up the entire time, but besides that IT WAS A BLAST and kind of an unreal experience...you're running out the lake dripping wet and barefoot, drying yourself off and hopping onto a bike, then hopping off and running up a hill...craziness.

I couldn't NOT show how glamorous we all looked in our swim caps! Yikes!

Mares had to head home for work, but Meg and Shara and I managed to squeeze a quick overnight trip up to Chicago during their stay. We hung out at Navy Pier and saw acrobats and magic tricks, laughed till we cried on the ferris wheel, did the architectural boat tour, shopped on the magnificent mile (without kids it actually IS enjoyable!), posed by the bean, ate famous Digornio's pizza, gave half our pizza to a homeless man, got a taste of Chicago traffic and managed to get home in one piece!

The "bean" is THE coolest art structure and I never tire of posing by it!!
I am so proud of you guys! What an accomplishment!! Way to go!!

ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see people you know on someone's blogspot. My dream is to one day do a triathalon too. It may be a few years before I'll have the time to get into that kind of shape! Way to go ladies!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies for signing up! It made it better to have some people around. You proved your toughness. I just kept thinking during the whole thing, we are women and we are strong!
