Jackson's 5th Birthday

Rummaging around my meager "cake decorating" stock, Jax found his old "My First Birthday" hat and thought it would be fun to see if it still fit him.  It seriously seems like yesterday my little man looked like this...

Ready to "take off" at an early age...he walked at 8months and I knew I was in for trouble!

He'd be wearing navy blue and camo and I'd still have ladies tell me how cute my little girl was!  I never minded though, there are worse things than having a gorgeous boy!

Kind of the boss of our house from the day he was born...

Ever the sweetheart and protector of his younger sister...

Cute with or without curls (but he told never to do that again to his hair!)...
"I need to keep the curls for the girls mom!"
The perfect Frodo Baggins...

It's wierd to think that someday he is going to be able to fit into that hat!
So enough reminiscing!
We told Jax he could take a best friend to ChuckECheeses this year for his birthday. Asking Jackson to pick one best friend was like asking him to pick his favorite star! Not possible! But he was satisfied with "Grant, Colista and the Paul's girls!" So we ran with it. Note to any other parents-going to ChuckECheeses on a Saturday night in the dead of winter...be prepared to hang out there with all of Avon!!
Jackson is notorious for not looking at you when you are trying to take a picture of him-it's rather annoying really!  But add that tendency to a room full of noises, flashing lights and distractions and you have a frustrated mom who had to remind herself, "it's his birthday he can do what he wants to!"

Grant wanted to show Eliza that he could eat his pizza like "Toothless" from "How to Train Your Dragon".
The below machine is every parents' key to earning the optimal amount of tickets!  Rachel actually caught the light right on and hit the jackpot-thanks to her, all the kids had enough to get a couple prizes each.
Brookie attempting the impossible.

CC just being cute.
You can't fake that kind of excitement!
Thanks friends for making it such a fun night! And thanks Jax for giving me one good picture! I love you my little man. You are such a joy in my life, a great big brother and so much fun to be with!
